Inspire Fitness M3: The Rock Star of Home Gyms. This review takes a look at the various design features and workout options that really make this home gym machine stand out, to help you decide if this would be the best choice for your own home workouts.
The Inspire Fitness M3 Home Gym is a pretty good high-end home gym option to consider. It is more than enough for beginner and intermediate lifters, it has quite a bit of weight stack resistance, lots of exercise choices, and is built durable too. This is a fairly expensive choice to go with, but in our opinion, the price is well worth the investment.
The award-winning M3 features a commercial quality abdominal crunch station built right into its head pad. A seated leg curl station for shaping glutes and strengthening hamstring muscles. As well as a patented dual back pad tilt for superior fit and comfort. It’s visually inspiring yet compact enough to fit on a 4’x 6′ mat.

It also comes standard with a 210lb weight stack for even the most serious lifters. The M3 is the home gym that the critics call “The Bomb”. The M3 has it all and will help you obtain a body you never thought possible.
Main Pressing Arm
In recent years home gyms have gone through some major changes in terms of their design and exercises they offer. The great thing is that as long as you have space at home to get one setup, you can find a machine to suit almost any budget. As with any piece of fitness equipment though, you do get what you pay for in terms of quality.
This is why Inspire Fitness has gone to great lengths to make sure their M3 Home Gym provides everything you need for a full body workout. The first design feature we wanted to take a look at was the main pressing arm. With many home gym systems, this usually follows a fixed plane of motion and offers fairly limited muscle activation.
What’s different about the Inspire Fitness M3 is that the angle of the arm can actually be adjusted, allowing you to work your back and shoulders, as well as your chest.
To ensure you’re always in a comfortable position to perform the exercise, the back support and seat are fully adjustable. Slide the back support along the rail to be closer to the weight stack if you want to perform a few sets of chest presses, or slide it closer towards the leg developer if you want to perform seated rows or lat pulldowns.
4 Point cable pulley system
With most home gym setups, it’s not unusual to find you only have the option of one or two cable pulleys. For a few hundred dollars you can usually find a machine that offers a high cable and leg developer but very little more. You’ll be pleased to know this isn’t the case with the Inspire Fitness M3.
The low cable pulley attached to the leg developer is used specifically for that purpose, with a completely separate low pulley available for curls, rows, lateral raises, and more.
You might have also noticed that there’s a cable pulley positioned directly behind the padding where your head rests, between the small set of handles. This is ideal for seated ab crunches and overhead extensions, as you can train your core with heavier weights to stay within your target rep range.
While some home gym machines do offer dual weight plate stacks, the Inspire Fitness M3 manages to create resistance for all 4 of the cable pulley positions using just one 215 lb stack.
This not only saves in setup time but also makes it much lighter and more compact. The entire weight plate stack has also been shrouded with a protective cover to improve safety and prevent injury.
High cable pulley design
With the back being such a large and complex muscle group, the chances are that if you are using dumbbells alone, you aren’t seeing the gains in size and strength that you should be.
Of course, the low cable pulley can be used for standing cable rows, upright rows, and shrugs. However, the high cable pulley is the feature that will provide the most options in terms of varying your workout plan.
Whether you choose an overhand grip with your hands at either end of the bar to focus on your lats, or underhand grip to focus on overall thickness and muscular development, the lat pulldown bar is an excellent addition to any back workout.
There’s also the option to remove the lat pulldown bar altogether if you wanted to so that you can replace the attachment with a smaller straight bar, tricep rope, or single handle.
Leg and lower body workouts
One of the great difficulties in choosing a home gym is finding a design that provides a leg developer with a full range motion.
Most machines stop when your legs are at around a 90-degree angle. The M3 gives the option to create a larger range of motion for a greater stretch and contraction in your quads.
With a similar design to the padded rollers attached to the back support, this ensures that there’s no pressure on your legs that could reduce the number of reps you can perform in each set.
Inspire Fitness M3 Exercise Options:
Where you would once only find a lat pulldown and chest press handles with a fixed range of motion, the M3 now offers variable planes of motion with its main pressing arm to provide multiple exercises from one design feature.
There’s also the benefit of having so many cable positions to choose from. Their nature of following your natural range of motion as your curl, press, and pull the various attachments let you work for every muscle group from a variety of angles, ensuring complete muscular development.
Listed below is just a sample of the exercises you can perform with the M3:
- Seated ab crunches
- Upright rows
- Chest press
- Shoulder press
- Bicep curls
- Leg extensions
- Side lateral raises
- Lat pulldowns
- Tricep pushdowns
- Hammer curls (rope attachment)
Available separately: Leg Press, Abdominal Bar
What We Like
The Inspire Fitness M3 Home Gym allows for quite a wide variety of exercises to be done on it. Between, high pulley station, the multi-function press arms, the low pulley with a seated rowing bar, the ab crunch function, the multi-function leg developer, and the optional leg press and abdominal bar, you get one heck of a workout.
The Inspire Fitness M3 Home Gym also comes with an aluminum revolving easy curl bar, strap handles, and ankle straps too. On a side note, the Inspire Fitness M3 Home Gym does have a 210-pound weight stack, which is ideal for beginners and intermediate lifters.
Another thing that we really like about the Inspire Fitness M3 Home Gym is that it comes with an orthopedic grade seat and backrest. Both of these items are specifically designed to be ergonomically friendly and to reinforce good form, as well as to reinforce the natural shape of your back.
The Inspire Fitness M3 Home Gym is built tough and built to last for a very long time. The steel frame is extremely durable, plus it is powder coated as well. Also, the cables are aircraft grade and have a tensile strength of 2,000 pounds. The Inspire Fitness M3 Home Gym also has a very high weight limit.

Dimensions & Weight
The Inspire Fitness M3 Home Gym is about average in terms of size, but it is quite heavy. It is not the smallest or the largest high-end home gym, nor is it the heaviest or lightest. It is just kind of average. That being said, it still weighs a good few hundred pounds.
- Length: 72 inches
- Width: 40 inches
- Height: 84 inches
- Weight: 550+ pounds
Final Thoughts on the Inspire Fitness M3 Home Gym
If you’re looking for a step up over the more traditional style of home gyms, the Inspire Fitness M3 is compact enough to fit comfortably in the corner of your room, yet still, offer dozens of exercise options.
The patented pressing arm design with its quick change locking pin for a variety of different starting positions and exercises is really what sets this gym apart from most other multi gyms.
The only extra feature we would like to see is a wider choice of exercises for lower body. The low cable and leg developer offers some great options, however, a leg press would help develop better overall size and strength. (This is actually available as an additional attachment if it’s something you would need)
The impressive lifetime warranty, choice of exercises, and attractive design are just a few of the reasons we would recommend this home gym.
